Day 7 Smart Little Cookie!



 Dusty was perky this morning.  After we got him out of his crib the first thing he wanted to do was walk.  He was cruising too!  We were very amazed.  (I'll post the video of him walking tomorrow.)

He even wanted to go to walk to the sun porch to sit on the rocking animal for a while. 

Sonya was very alive, as well, and spent much time in laps playing with her favorite toy.  Edward helped us get the spare picture book back that we had given to Carey to give to Sonya weeks ago.  Quite a coupe getting it back! 

At the end of our visit, we got to see Sonya and Dusty have lunch for a few minutes.

  Seemed to be a rice stew of some kind and maybe bread and meatballs in it.  The bibs were very long so that the bowl could be put on top of the bib - less messy this way.  I thought that was very smart.  It was cute the way Sonya helped get the bib – just right!  I think I will have to invest in BIG/LONG bibs.

They both did a good job eating – with some help.  We took a video of Dusty eating his lunch.  I learned that Dusty would rather use his hands than use a spoon – if given the option.  If you notice in the video he puts his finger in the bowl, but is told not to do it.  After the video stopped the nanny walked away and I continued to watch Dusty.  He was looking at the Nanny to see if she was watching.  She was not, so he stuck his hand in the bowl and grabbed a “chunk” and quickly put it in his mouth.  Too funny!  At the end of the video you will hear John saying, “Paka-Paka” which means Good-bye.  To our amazement Dusty waved “goodbye”!  He is a smart little cookie!

    It was so great to see the pictures and video of Dusty today. He looked so happy and alert. Of course, Sonya looked like the little ray of sunshine we can't wait to see pictures of everyday! I'm so glad you had another great visit.

  4. Hi Amy,

    I just got back from Easter Holiday to find all these wonderful posts... and I am in tears seeing Sonya and Dusty together with you. These kids won the Lottery- and so did you :) They are so precious, and Sonya is as alert and smiley as the other families told us. Dusty seems to be a smart cookie too, and my guess is that a family, love and support will make him shine even more. Congratulations!! :)

  5. They are really cute.

    Not sure I would want to eat what they were about to eat but goodness it seems like they sure gave Sonya a lot of food to eat for such a little girl. Maybe the bowl looked bigger than it was.
    Now wonder these kids shovel their food in their mouths as fast as they can, when they get into their forever families. From the video it appeared the Caretaker was shoveling it down Dusty as fast as she could and that did not look fast enough. Poor little guy, hope he did not have a tummy ache afterwards for eating so fast.
